The number of employees of the Institute at the beginning of 2023 is 58 people, including 38 researchers, including 13 doctors and 21 candidates of sciences. The Institute is staffed by academicians N.A. Izobov, V.I. Yanchevsky, V.I. Korzyuk, corresponding members V.V. Academicians E.A. Barbashin, N.P. Erugin (Director from 1959 to 1977), V.I. Krylov, V.P. Platonov (Director from 1977 to 1992), V.G. Sprinjuk, D.A. Suprunenko, S.A. Chunikhin, I.V. Gaishun (Director from 1992 to 2018), and correspondent members E.I. Grudo, A.E. Zalesky, E.A. Ivanov, and L.Y. Yanovich, F.M. Kirillova.

The Institute maintains active creative ties with leading scientific institutions in many countries of the world (Germany, France, Belgium, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Greece, Italy, Poland, Austria, China, USA, Great Britain, Denmark, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Serbia, Japan, Bulgaria), is the organizer of a number of international conferences, schools, symposia.

The achievements of the Institute's scientists have been recognized by the Lenin Prize (1978), the State Prize of the USSR (1970, 1972), the State Prizes of the BSSR (1974, 1978, 1982), the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus (1998, 2000, 2004), the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR (1986), the Prizes of the Lenin Komsomol (1970, 1987) and the Lenin Komsomol of Belarus (1976, 1984, 1990), the Prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1993, 1995).
